17.85 kW Solar Array and Heat Pump
In July of 2024 and March of 2025, the Town of Richland was awarded a total of 3 NYSERDA Clean Energy Community Grants.
In March of 2025, the Town of Richland was given $5,000 allowing us to purchase a heat pump for the office in the Water Building on County Route 41.
In July of 2024, we were awarded 2 other NYSERDA grants totaling $60,000. These two grants permitted the Town to install an additional solar panel at the Water Building. There are now 3 panels there producing electricity and helping the Town to offset electric costs for the taxpayers. As the water building does not consume a large amount of electricity, the remaining kilowatts are allocated to the Richland Wellfield.
